The Blues of the lonely blogger ?
I haven’t posted since Sunday. Not that I have been busy, but by lack of inspiration.
My last post, titled “The Sunday Post”, was not even a question. I didn’t find one. After almost 400 questions, I was not able to find one. I found it today, I renamed it “Free as a bird ?”. Even birds are not supposed to go where they like in our society (whether it was photoshopped or not).
The funny thing is that my readership according to Feedburner still shows about 140 subscribers every day. That’s 140 people who check my blog in a feed reader.
This means that either :
- I have a lot more readers, but each one only checks this blog around once a week, and reads all the latest posts. Then I probably have around 700 regular readers..
- I have 140 readers and every time they open their blog reader it counts one reader, whether they check my feed or not.
I am not going to ask my readers to leave a comment, just for the sake of counting, don’t worry. (I am going to ask something though..)
But thinking of it, if blogging is posting whatever comes through mind just to post something, then it’s wasting people’s time. So after 1 year and a half of almost daily blogging, I think I should start considering quality more than quantity. It’s probably not going to be daily.
Anyhow, I will not surrender to demoralization.
I may start a blog in French with RD in 08, where anonymous citizens (me and RD and whoever wants to join) would share personal development tips and their experience in how to grow and be happy in a society corrupted by consumerism. I would call it something like “Vivre Libre”.
In the meantime, I am preparing a post called the “10 reasons why we should all leave Facebook”. I already have a good bunch of reasons, like “it gives your data to the CIA”, but I’d like to ask for some help on this one…
So if you know a good (or just funny) reason to leave Facebook, leave a comment, dear reader.

“Anyhow, I will not surrender to demoralization.”
Excellent notion. Onwards!
I don’t really understand your two choices. All I know is that I check my feed reader about every hour, because my work is very boring and I need something new. When your post (or any of my feeds) appears, I read it. If I want to comment later, I “keep it as new” and then I read it again later. And if I want to have all my friends guess which band is The Hives, I may go back several times.
I hate Facebook with the passion of a thousand suns. And yet, I gave in and have a page in which I can market to people who give gifts of fake plants to each other. It has worked nicely so far.

Yes it’s cool. Connect with fake plants giving people. That’s a good reason to leave FB.

Wow, I wasn’t aware Facebook gives the information of innocent people bands and businesses to the CIA!? Do you have a link to more information on this? That is very interesting. I suppose that’s a great reason right there!
