Organization hacks : yet another bad habit ?

Have you noticed how everybody is an organization expert these days ?

“20 tips to increase your productivity”, “how to become super organized”, “take the habit of having none” etc…

Everybody wants to be Steve Pavlina, (except for the design of course) and .. it works. Lifehacker, Zen habit, Dumb little man, etc.. everyday one of these hits the front line of some social site (sorry no link, too lazy, JFGI).

So it seems everybody want to get their life in order but no one can overcome our X, Y or Z generation’s disease : procrastination.

So here are my little tips to make yourself an expert in overcoming procrastination without any organization skill :

1/ Don’t start a blog. You won’t need to read any.

2/ Spend only a reasonable time on the internet : Internet is where you can learn a considerable amount of info, knowledge and even wisdom. It’s there, at your finger tips, but it doesn’t replace outdoors and real life experience. At least you’re not spending that time at your television.

3/ Spend less time on youtube : youtube is great but it’s the biggest time waster ever invented since television. It is actually television. On the net. Made by idiots (”you”, I mean “us”, although I doubt I will ever post anything there).

4/ Never procrastinate. Instead, enjoy doing nothing. Don’t feel guilty : you can’t concentrate? Great. Not feeling motivated ? Don’t insist. There must be a good reason. Reward yourself for being lazy. Get away from your desk. The world won’t stop turning. Take a few hours nap, it’s the week end.

5/ Turn off the computer. Completely, not just snooze.

By the way, I’m off for the week end to Normandie with my family so no internet, no lame posts and that’s OK !

And that just made a post for the week end.

*chuckle* .. Some good advice there .. but maybe some of us enjoy procrastinating.

Seriously, I like your 4th suggestion above. Guilt can be such a terrible burdan and instigator of stress.

Thanks Owen. I’am glad we agree on point n° 4.
