What is the start up of the day ?

Everybody talks today about Pownce, the new venture of Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.

What’s Pownce?

Pownce is a great way to send stuff to people you know. Add friends, then send them big files, invite them to upcoming events, share great links, and whip off a note to anyone, everyone, or just a few people.

From what i’ve read it’s something between Twitter, Myspace/Facebook and Jabber, with file sharing and a desktop interface made with Adobe Air. Sounds so damn cool no ? What’s cool apparently is that you can send a message to a group of people.. a bit like a group email (”sending stuff to your friends…”).

We’ll all be powncing 6 months from now, nonetheless. At least it’s prettier than Twitter.

It’s already so popular that for a moment, the site was unavailable. As if Kevin the guru had gone meditating. Maybe Leah will have to wear that lousy t-shirt after all.
