It’s been one year since my first post. I think it’s called a Blogoversary.

So how many silly questions did I ask ?

It’s status time, and maybe also time for a little introspection (yeah, I didn’t become a star of the blogosphere)..

There’s some good and some bad, but overall it’s been really fun.

1/ Numbers:

365questions currently has 291 posts, 553 comments and 28 635 (and counting) spams. Thanks to all who commented.

All my posts have a question mark, except one : “too many question marks!”.

Since September 06, I received 184 849 unique visitors, who saw 259 096 pages. Visitors spent an average of 49 seconds on the site (sic!).

Main referers :

1. stumbleupon.com : 55 868 visitors

2. digg.com : 34 176 visitors

3. Google (search) : 24 289 visitors

4. Reddit.com : 19 904 visitors

5. Direct : 13 939 visitors

6. i-am-bored.com : 12 257 visitors

7. Meneame (Spanish Digg like) : 2 151 visitors

8. Google (RSS readers) : 1 683 visitors

9. Nettavisen (Norvegian site) : 1 333 visitors

10. Delicious : 918 visitors

I made it twice to Digg homepage, and twice to reddit homepage, but recently Stumble Upon drove most of my traffic.

So much for the good side. Now the dark part :

Attrition is big, loyalty is low (90% of new visitors).

My co-writer RD gave up after a few weeks. Probably our lack of editorial line.

I spend an insane amount of time browsing the web and checking my stats (much more than writing).

I only rank 120 000 on Alexa and my Technorati rank stalled at 32 000..

I don’t have a clear mission statement, an editorial line, a unique design. And I didn’t really build a community (sorry for those of my readers who comment frequently). Here are a few attempts at creating a logo with a baseline :

It’s time for a small confession too. I don’t regularly read any blog and I barely comment (except for one or two blogs I like) .

Maybe that’s why.
