Attack of Spam?
I noticed recently that Akismet was letting more and more spam go through to the comment inbox. And I am not the only one (we are two !).
Usually most spam goes straight to the Spam inbox and I just have to delete all once a day.
This week, some of it made it repeatedly into the “awaiting moderation” section… I got my daily dose of “sounds of real spankings”, “asians in skirts”, and “gay bear blowjobs”.
Akismet’s blog doesn’t mention it, but they don’t have recent entries.
While I was there, I checked their Spam Zeitgeist. OMG. Look at this.
Dear lord Akismet, protect us from the spam evil.

Yeah there was some brief downtime, and as you can see from the graph spam has been going crazy. Sorry about the downtime.

Thanks Matt for taking the trouble to explain what was going on ! I’m honoured you visited my place. I’m a great fan of Wordpress. And Akismet is just The most necessary plug in. I’m glad you’re behind these two. This Spam increase is scary.

I think now on half if our lifetime will be spent on deleting spams..lol…
