Windows errors : a best of?
Since I switched to Mac, I don’t get much of these silly software errors.
I think I’m nostalgic… Here’s a small selection of the best Windows has to offer (in terms of errors of course).

I see just 3 Windows errors(Which can easily be attributed to problems caused by other applications by anyone with half a brain). The others are caused by applications running on windows / bad drivers, etc.
Stop lying.

I think it is a great article/post. I don’t see why putting together a fun post in hopes of appealing to a large number of people should be looked down on.

About half of those are program errors rather than OS errors, and some of them are completely reasonable. For example, if a program is missing its Tips file, that’s a rather nice way to let the user know. After all, tips aren’t vital to program function.
I can see the Dreamweaver one being a debugging thing. It was looking for errors, and didn’t find anything. Since it generated a confirmation dialog, it was probably in response to something user-initiated. “Scan my code for errors.” “We didn’t find any!”
Again, about half of those aren’t Windows’ fault.

The long one is an unreal error, it posts a full stack trace on a fatal crash for debugging purposes. It doesn’t happen very often.

there are a lot of “programs” which enable you to produce whichever error message you want to.. i guess a couple of them have been made like that.. whatever

Seriously, about 2 or 3 of those are legitimate, the rest are a mix of photoshops and errors caused by third party software.
I don’t even like microsoft, I use linux and I enjoy making fun of windows - but only when its stuff thats true.
And anyway, the one thing I like less than windows is Macs, what a style over substance case!

Windows Explorer is the main programe of windows, wich displays the start button, the explorer, the desktop …

Wow, you guys are taking this way too seriously.
It’s just supposed to be humourous because of the way they look or are worded, etc.
Stop turning everything into a mac/windows flame war. It didn’t seem to be the author’s intention, why should it be yours?

And I agree with Wren, I don’t see why going for mass appeal is a bad thing.

Thanks for your nice words. Indeed, it was supposed to be taken with a grain of salt, but I understand it may have irritated a lot of people. Windows against mac always raises controversy, even when it’s caricature.. All rectifications/corrections made to the post are legitimate, that’s the wisdom of crowds.

lol these are funny. my friend once had an error on windows vista that simply said “something bad happened” we got a screen shot of it but its on his computer, so ill have to ask him to send it to me.

I don’t think Adobe supports OSX anymore. I’m not sure as I use the GIMP and can’t imagine paying $500+ for Photoshop. FS/OSS is better anyway. I do, however, think you HAVE TO HAVE Windows to run Photoshop. What DO you need your computer to do? Unless it’s gaming, you can do it with either OSX or any flavor of Linux just as well as in a Windows environment. And without viruses, spyware, adware… You DO have choices. If you meant it that “windows is rubbish,” then explore the alternatives. Otherwise you’re lying to cover your Windows bias.

Well it’s completely self evident to anyone who knows anything about computers… when you compare windows to mac, Linux wins.
Apple does to hardware what M$ does to software… restricts it and hides it and tells you, you’re not allowed to play with it. I say f@#k off to both of them!

I have seen most of those errors in my XP-PC, plus some more. I can`t understand why some people has to defend faults in a system they haven`t created themselves. I don`have much Mac experienca, so i can`t compare.

Oh PLEASE, Chill people!!! it’s just for fun and I laughed A LOT!! Why you take this joy from yourself by fighting over some stupid issues??!! It’s obvious that windows is full of S#@t!!! I’ve seen errors even worse than these!! Just laugh and if you can’t because you like windows, just close firefox/opera (I say this because I KNOW even the people who like windows don’t use IE!!!).

I’ve gotten two of those errors before. I hate the “cannot delete: not enough space” one. Though I would probably start ripping hair out if I ever got, “There was a problem displaying the previous error.”
Even so, I remain a PC girl.

You know what is really funny, that people think that osx is better than windows. Why would you think or say that, as they are different in so many ways and i have a mac and a pc and my mac is slower which is a new imac 2.4 dual core with 4gb of ram and the pc is amd dual core 4600+ with 2gb of ram and using Vista O/S. The Mac is hard to look at for long period’s of time as you can’t change the refresh rate or contrast and most small print on the web is a light grey color instead of black which is much easier to read and it looks fuzzy on a mac but not on a pc. And i have crashed osx 10.5.2 a lot.
So don’t talk unless you really know what you are talking about. And let’s not forget how much software there is for mac vs pc’s. Guess what, more for pc’s a lot more.
