Why blog at all?

I am experiencing a small of gap in motivation with this blog. I just hit 6 000 unique visitors in January, which means an average of 200 visitors a day. But guess what, 70% of visits are this post in 2007… just as 70 % were on that one in 2006. I almost considered specializing in 404 pages and linerider news..

My Technorati rank is slacking at around 90 000. The only good point is that I finally got a Google page rank of.. 1.
I realize I sound a bit like a victim, just like today’s gaping void :

So what did I see on the net today ? through Zewoc, a once very good web site in French, now turned into a blog, I found Allan’s World Empire, probably the worst site ever. I gave me an idea to write something like the ‘ten worst sites ever”. If somebody has suggestions, I’d appreciate.

Then I checked the latest buzz on the web, like How to fake a web 2.0 logo and the ad generator. Nothing awe inspiring, sorry.

The only funny thing probably was this follow up of the Sponge experiment from CNN, because I myself put an old sponge in the microwave oven to check if it would make it brand new. It didn’t and like many others geeks who believe all they read on the web, it stunk really bad in the kitchen.

Only interesting reading I stumbled upon was this post from a 93 years old Blogger : It bother me that I have to go. I found it touching, because it sounded true. There is no secret. It works only when it’s true. Blogs, films, novels. It has to convey this feeling of being true.

From Don’s Blog, I landed on the Halifax Explosion, a disaster explosion of a French ship carrying explosives in Halifax, 1917, causing 1000 Dead and a tsunami.

Then, i read this article on BBC that scared the shit out of me : A new “non lethal” weapon, that just burns your skin at 50 degrees, a bit like when you open a hot oven (not the microwave one this time). I wonder what it does if you can’t run away.

Back to internet stuff, I could maybe mention Etsy, a shopping search engine based on colors, or Bubbl.us, a tool for online Brainstormings, two examples of nice drag and drop interfaces.
Voilà. Was that worth mentioning? How can I make this blog useful?
