Searchmash is a Google product : “SearchMash is a website operated by Google Inc.”
According to Emre Sokullu, it’s where Google test their latest search innovations.
In a nutshell, it uses a lot of Ajax to displays less (hide details of results) or more information (search through images, videos, blogs, wikipedia). You can also give instant feed back on the quality of results.
Still, just like Google, when you ask for the “best search engine“, it gives you noodletools.
