Best of Web 1.0?
Nine sites that rocked Web 1.0, and still do, in my opinion.
1. Zombo
“Where you’ll always get a warm welcome”. The most unique, useless and ubuesque website of the galaxy.

2. David Still
Be David Still, just for a day. Send an email, wait for the reply, it will be online. You can also read and reply to thousands of his emails. A fantastic yet scary insight on human mind. And a masterpiece in early internet Art.

3. Phone bashing
Two giant phones terrorizing the streets of London, grabbing innocent people’s Mobile devices and destroying them shamelessly, all video taped.

4. 1h05
Amazing web narration : dwell an entire day in a virtual city. Poetry for Macromedia.

5. Opniyama:
Years before linerider, a pointless yet beautiful online game made for Paris Museum of Modern Art.

6. Sofake:
“The most professional web design firm in the world”. Sofake just rules. Just check Mail Order Chicken, where you can adopt a chicken or Billy Harvey music, the guy with the Oklahomo T-Shirt.

7. BBC Learning Paper basket ball :
One of the most entertaining and addictive game ever, courtesy of BBC. Throw a paper ball in the dust bin. The sound effect are perfect. Requires some skill, but it’s incredible how fast the brain adapts to the wind parameters.

8. Yugo Nakamura
Japanese Grand Master Flash.

9. Cat-scan.com:
Simply people scanning their cats, and sending their photos to CliffyB. The prehistory of web 2.0? Anyway one of the greatest site ever. Thanks Wayback machine for keeping it. Check the hate mails, they are fantastic.
